efault, auto update apps are enabled on Android device. So whenever your phone or tablet gets connected to internet, the system will check for available updates and install them automatically. Having this feature enabled is a great way to ensure that your apps are always up to date.

But the problem is not everyone might have a mobile data plan that can support automatically updating apps on their Android device.

To get rid of this problem, Google has added an option to enable or disable the auto update apps on the Android market, as well as an option to only update when user is on a Wifi connection. Here I’ll show you how to do it:

• Open the Google Play Store on your phone or tablet
• Tap the ‘Menu’ button and select ‘Settings’.

• Tap on the ‘Auto-update apps’ in the Settings menu.

Now a dialog will pop out with three options. Choose ‘don’t auto-update apps’ to prevent apps from getting updated automatically.

Done! now your apps will only update when you manually update them. If you have a Wi-Fi connection, you can choose ‘Auto update apps over wifi only’ to keep your apps updated without burdening your data plan.
